Our charming Gite with 2 rooms, kitchen and bathroom is located in a friendly village and from the large sunny terrace you can see the ancient Cité of Carcassonne
Within a 5 minute drive, the lively port of Trebes has all the necessary shops and several restaurants.
10 minutes away is the ancient walled Cité of Carcassonne - a World Heritage site - which is well preserved and a wonderful place to visit.
A 5 minute walk through vineyards brings you to the Canal du Midi where you can watch the boats passing through our lock
(you have missed Rick Stein's odyssey!)
Canals are pretty flat so cycling the towpath is fun. We can arrange wine tasting, art classes  and the 18 hole golf course is just around the corner.
 
Just a few minutes from the Canal du Midi,
 between the Minervois & Cabardes wine regions with lovely walks through the vineyards.
A short drive takes you to the Cathare castles
 (this is the heart of Kate Mosse's "Labyrinth" and Sepulchre country)
Or the Montagne Noir with spectacular hikes and lakes for swimming.
If you prefer a beach the Mediterranean is a 45 min drive
the Spanish border is 1¼ hours away (Barcelona 3 hours.)


 
There is a large double bedroom and a well-equipped kitchen;
The lovely garden room has table & chairs, a double futon and an open fireplace.
 the light, airy bathroom has a sunken bath/shower.
The Gite sleeps up to 4 but is ideally suited for 2.
The Terrace is equipped with a BBQ,
Sun-loungers, Parasol, Table & Chairs.
Ideal for both alfresco evenings and lazing in the sun, Whilst contemplating the myriad leisure opportunities offered by the Languedoc,  its history and its vineyards.

Carcassonne station and the A61 motorway are both 15 minutes.

There is a supplement of 50 Euros / Week for parties of more than 2 people.
Longer term winter rates by arrangement - a good time for property hunters. 
All fees are payable in Euros or Sterling .
Bookings are not firm until we receive a 20% deposit  -
this is not refundable unless we manage to re-let the period.
Full payment is required 6 weeks ahead of time.
A security deposit of 150Euros is payable on arrival which we will return after departure.  
Kitchen equipment includes gas stove, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, etc
Linens and Bath towels (not beach) are supplied
A washing machine is available for your use
A cot and a child's car seat are available and there is parking for a (small) car.

Pets welcome by arrangement

We are (we hope) friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

Le Studio Gite provides self catering Gite style accommodation near the town of Carcassonne and is intended for parties of up to four persons wishing to enjoy a relaxing self catering break. The owners have contact with other self catering Gites that may or may not have a swimming pool. So if Le Studio Gite cannot provide you with self catering accommodation we can pass on your enquiry to other Gites that we know and can recommend, if you so wish.
